Who I Am

Catherine Flew

  • 18 years specialising as an interview coach for medical professionals and students, and previous background as a development coach in the commercial sector.
  • Proven track record – high success rate, working mostly from client recommendations.
  • Invited speaker at BAPRAS and Barts on “How to Succeed at Consultant Interview”.
  • Passionate about supporting clients, some of whom I have seen throughout their careers.

I have almost two decades of experience as a medical interview coach specialist, and additional complementary experience before that as a development coach in the commercial sector. 18 years ago, a plastic surgeon was referred to me for coaching preparation for a consultant interview. The surgeon was successful in their interview, and I realised my passion, and ability, for helping doctors to succeed in their career pathways, by helping them to be fully prepared, and confident, for their interview.
– I went on to specialise in medical interview coaching, and haven’t looked back.

I have now coached hundreds of doctors and surgeons, and across all grades from Consultants, Locum Posts, Fellowships, ST3, TIG, FRCS, CT, Research Posts, Lectureships, Medical School, NHS Management Roles and GPs. I also help doctors prepare for their presentation for funding requests for clinical studies and research grants. I am experienced over a wide range of specialities and Trusts throughout the UK and Ireland. I also have International experience, having coached doctors from Australia and Hong Kong. Each career pathway is individual, and I can help guide you, one-to-one, in the right direction when preparing for your interview.

I am proud to say that I have a very high rate of success. I have a proven track record, and work mostly from personal recommendation by clients I have previously coached. I have also been an invited speaker at The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and Barts on, “How to Succeed at Consultant Interview”.

I have worked for the Oxford Deanery coaching Doctors in Difficulty. I really appreciate the hard work, long hours, and sacrifices you make along the medical training pathway and in the medical profession. I work flexibly to fit your schedules, and my one-on-one sessions ensure you get the most support from your time spent with me.

I am here for you!

Wherever you are in your career, I can help you to present yourself, your experience and your skills in the most favourable way as preparation is the key to success.

“I found our coaching so positive, and it’s really helped me to gather and organise my thoughts and be more confident. The difference after coming to see you has been palpable. Thank you for helping me to express myself better.”
